Booking

At South Downs we know that sometimes people like to be spontaneous and wake up and just go “lets go camping!”

With that in mind, unless stated, all our meets are just turn up and pay on the gate.

On occasions if we feel a meet will be popular or space is very limited we may advise bookings, and this will be highlighted on the meet info. This is because we don’t want to risk turning people away if the meet becomes full. However you are still welcome to turn up without booking but we cant guarantee you a pitch.

For peace of mind, campers are more than welcome to phone the stewards before departing to check the situation.

Membership cards must be presented when booking in on the gate.

Pricing

Most meets are listed as PPUN (price per unit per night). A unit is classified as the item you are sleeping eg. tent/caravan and the price includes up to 2 adults and all children 17 and under.

If there is more than 2 adults camping there may be an additional charge and this can be found on the event details.

For weekend meets all adult camping overnight on site must have membership to the camping and caravanning club. Adult non members are allowed to camp overnight in a members unit on our Temporary Holiday Sites .

Payment:

Some of our land owners still prefer to be paid in cash and likewise some of our members prefer this option. We therefore ask that campers bring enough cash to cover their meet fees, it would also be helpful if you have the exact money.

Non cash payments options are currently being looked at for those who prefer not to carry cash and members will be advise when this is available.
