Who we are and what we offer

South Downs DA; a varied bunch, but they have one thing in common, and that is the love of CAMPING

It does not matter what walk of life you come from or what unit you rock up in, the only thing that is guaranteed is that you will receive a warm welcome for those camping with South Downs DA.

The group is entirely organised and run by volunteers under the umbrella guidance of the Camping and Caravanning Club organisation.

What we offer is the chance to camp at affordable prices, no additional added cost for extra car, gazebo etc. It is also a great way to make friends as everyone is welcome to join in on social gatherings, but without the added pressure to do so.

The majority of our sites are off grid which means that there is no electric hook up (EHU) or toilet shower blocks. However there will always be a fresh water tap and an elsan point on site, and if other facilities are available these will be highlighted.

Many of our members have being camping this way for years whilst others are new to this way of camping but have found the benefits far out way the perceived disadvantages. In fact many of our off grid campers, even the tenters, have all the mod cons with them yet are paying a fraction of the price that campsites charge plus the additional bonus with being with likeminded people who are always willing to help out.
